JackFruitJuice

JackFruitJuice:

Definitely we all would have come across juice shops in our places. We would have seen variety of juices but have you ever seen Jack Fruit Juice. I have never come across one so far in Bangalore.

My nephew told me "atte, can u make this juice for me because momma told this juice is never made". My co-brother also told let's try. So when we went to park in the evening brought some jack fruit pieces and separated the seed from the fruit and made the juice.

Ingredients:
  • Jack Fruit Pieces - 4 to 6
  • Sugar - 2 tbsp
  • Cardamom Powder - 1 tsp
  • Cold Water - 1 cup

Method:
  • Remove the seeds from the jack fruit pieces (in kannada it is alasina tole)
  • Put it in the blender along with cold water, sugar and cardamom powder blend it well
  • Serve it with ice cubes (my nephew had put ice cubes for his glass)

I went to check out the roundup of "Let's Cook - Greens" in tickling palates authored by Radhika. And saw the next event - "Let's Cook #14 - Chilled" and I had this post ready. That was a coincidence, I linked to this event.

Jackfruit is known as alasina tole in kannada, panasapandu in telugu, Phanasu in Marathi/Hindi, palappazam in tamil. The tree is grown in South East Asia and in tropical regions viz., India. Jackfruit is the national fruit of Bangaladesh while India's national fruit is Mango.
