Banana Burger Sandwich

Banana Burger Sandwich:

Dear Blog Readers,

Oops, it happened again. I had prepared a Banana Burger Sandwich on Saturday and an Apple Ice cream on sunday but due to my little sweet and naughty angel I couldn't post.

My little angel once he sees the laptop will come and sit on the keyboard and cover the display and see the desktop. As he still doesn't understand that he has to type from keyboard he does this. Generation changed pa from TV to laptop. -:)

This post is for my blogging marathon - Hema's Adugemane Marathon

I planned to do Steamed Banana Cake but after steaming it turned out to be halwa. Hence made it in the shape of burger and used it along with bread as a sandwich.

Here is the Ver 2.0:

Ingredients:
  • Ripped Bananas - 3
  • Sugar - 75 grams
  • Milk - 50 ml
  • Baking Soda - 1 tsp
  • Baking Powder - 2 tsp
  • Vegetable Oil - 1 1/2 tsp
  • Wheat Flour - 1 cup (50 grams)

Method:
  • Mash the bananas and mix it along with milk, sugar
  • Sieve flour, baking soda and baking powder for 3 three times so that they mix well
  • Mix the sieved ingredients with bananas, milk and sugar, the result should be medium consistency
  • Keep it in a cooker for steaming for half an hour
  • Remove it out and allow it to cool for 10 minutes
  • Make them as burgers
  • Take 2 bread slices toast it with butter
  • Put the burger on top of one bread
  • Put one more bread on top of burger
  • Enjoy the feast along with cocojel to make a perfect evening snacks

Onion Tomato Sandwich

Onion Tomato Sandwich:

Final exam time to all school children. All the best children. Definitely parents will be having a tuff time to make their children study, write and then face the exam. It would be as if parents are facing exam. This is the same in my case for my first son, Aditya.

Aditya is studying in III Standard and he is indifferent to other children. He would not keep his books neatly, tear pages from his classwork/homework and make greeting cards, use them for some project work which his class teacher or subject teacher would not have told. Warn him, punish him still no wonder he does the same thing again and again. His exams are going on from yesterday, 19th March and will end on 26th March. He will read maximum of one hour and tell "mama i have finished". So our conversation began in this way:

Adi: Mama, I have finished
Me: Wow, my son has just read. Now can you take up a test
Adi: I will tell you all answers but not writing please mama
Me: You are in III Standard and you have written test and not oral, my dear
Adi: (somehow agrees) Ok give me the test
Me: Give me your text book, i will mark questions for you in Hindi (as this was the first test)
Adi: You have given me one question from each lesson but why 2 questions from this lesson alone.
Me: That's how the question paper will be what your madam would have set. Because there might be choice to select 5 questions out of 7 questions. But in home you have to write all.
Adi: No you remove one question, or you give 2 questions from all chapters.
Me: Finally, I told him you write one question in that lesson.
Adi: (once he completed his test) Now I want sandwich which you had promised

I had promised him once he completes this test, he will have a yummy sandwich.

Yep, here is the recipe for the same.

Ingredients:

  • Curry leaves - few
  • Cilantro - few
  • Salt to taste
  • Red Chilli Powder - 2 tsp
  • Bread Slices - 8
  • Oil - 2 tsp
  • Butter for roasting the bread

Method:

  • Fry them for sometime and add tomato and fry till tomatoes become soft
  • Add curry leaves, salt, chilli powder and mix them well
  • Sprinkle cilantro and switch off the stove

Onion - Tomato Sandwich:
  • Heat Dosa Pan and put a little oil on that
  • Take 2 bread slices and spread butter on them on both sides
  • Keep it on dosa pan in medium flame and switch over to the other side after 2 minutes and toast it well
  • Spread the Onion -Tomato chutney on one slice of the bread and keep other bread on top of it

Spinach-Potato Sandwich - Blog Hop Wednesday – ver 2.0 Series #15

Spinach-Potato Sandwich - Blog Hop Wednesday – ver 2.0 Series #15:

I feel great to participate in Blog Hop Wednesday ver 2.0 15th Series and this time I was paired with Roshan of Roshan Cucina

Blog Hop Wednesday is a monthly event which happens on every 2nd Wednesday of the month. Participant would be paired with one more participant and we need to select, cook and link it to the event.

Roshan started blogging since June 2010 and as of today she has got 136 varieties of recipes. She cooks mainly from Kerala, which is also called as God’s own country. In Kerala dishes mainly you will see milk, coconut either in sweet or in savory dishes. I selected out a sandwich dish which made my child and his friends, my sister-in-law and my neighbor to say great after eating the sandwich. This sandwich is called as Spinach-Potato Sandwich.

Ingredients:
Spinach – 20 leaves (I used palak)
Potato – 1 medium
Onion – 1 medium
Milk – ½ cup
Oil – 2 tbsp
All purpose Flour – 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Pepper Powder – 2 tsp
Bread Slices – 10

Method:
Cut potatoes into small cubes and leave it in hot oil for 7 minutes to turn them crispy.

Remove the cubes and add chopped onion pieces and washed spinach and fry them till onion turns translucent and spinach becomes soft
Add all purpose flour to the above mixture and still well till the raw smell goes
Add milk to the mixture and mix it well, a creamy consistency is formed

Finally add salt, pepper powder mix well and after a minute add crispy potato cubes and stir it well

Take 2 bread slices put ghee on both sides and slightly roast it using frying pan or dosa tawa
Take one roasted bread slice and spread the spinach potato mixture on top of it

Place other roasted bread slice on top of this one
Prepare the remaining bread slices in the same way
Squeeze tomato ketchup on it (optional as children asked for it) and serve it

Roshan has selected dates kheer from my blog and her version is here.
